Perl Error installing csf firewall in directadmin

Perl error while installing csf in directadmin : Can’t locate LWP/UserAgent.pm

While installing csf in linux directadmin server it will through below error message.

Checking Perl modules…
Can’t locate LWP/UserAgent.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/csf /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 .) at (eval 19) line 2.
BEGIN failed–compilation aborted at (eval 19) line 2.
Using configuration defaults

 

Solution:

yum search perl-libwww-perl

If package is available the install it using yum

yum install perl-libwww-perl

How to install MailScanner in CPanel

How to install MailScanner in CPanel

 

If you have the cPanel Clamavconnector installed (WHM > Add-on Modules) remove it – it will break MailScanner.

Login to server via SSH now.

Download the package using the below link:

wget http://www.configserver.com/free/msinstall.tar.gz

Untar the package using the below command.

tar -xzf msinstall.tar.gz

go inside the folder.

cd msinstall/

run the below command to install it.

sh install.sh

It will show the below output.

root@server [/usr/local/src/msinstall]# sh install.sh

Installing MailScanner service into /etc/init.d/ …

`MailScanner’ -> `/etc/init.d/./MailScanner’
mode of `/etc/init.d/MailScanner’ changed to 0700 (rwx——)

Performing MailScanner installation/upgrade…
MailScanner Installation/Upgrade Script

It will ask the below details.

1 New installation – full perl module installation
2 New installation – quick perl module check

9 Quit

Select option 2 for quick perl module installation.

clamd AntiVirus daemon giving local socket error while starting

Clamd is giving below error while starting.

Starting Clam AntiVirus Daemon: ERROR: LOCAL: Socket file /var/clamd could not be bound: Permission denied
ERROR: Can’t unlink the socket file /var/clamd

Open clamd.conf

vi /etc/clamd.conf

Comment the below lines by giving # infront of the line. This will fix the error:

LocalSocket unix:/var/run/clamav/clamd.sock
FixStaleSocket yes

How to install Linux Socket Monitor (LSM)

 

What is LSM ?

LSM is a bash scripted network socket monitor. It is designed to track changes to Network sockets and Unix domain sockets.

 

Installation

Download the tar file usign the below link:

wget http://rfxnetworks.com/downloads/lsm-current.tar.gz

Untar the file

tar -zxvf lsm-current.tar.gz

go inside the extracted folder

cd lsm-0.*

run the below command to install it

./install.sh

LSM Testing

/usr/local/sbin/lsm -c
/usr/local/sbin/lsm -g

How to enable mysql query cache

How to enable mysql query cache

Please note that i am enabling the mysql query caching limit to 20MB. I have converted the 20MB to 20971520KB

Login to the server via SSH.

Type “mysql” command

It will show the below output.

root@server [~]# mysql Welcome to the MySQL monitor.  Commands end with ; or \g. Your MySQL connection id is 99955 Server version: 5.1.62-cll MySQL Community Server (GPL)

Type ‘help;’ or ‘\h’ for help. Type ‘\c’ to clear the current input statement.

Then fire the below command in mysql

mysql> SHOW VARIABLES LIKE ‘query_cache_size’;

Then fire the below command to set the mysql query cache.

mysql> SET GLOBAL query_cache_size =20971520;

Then check the cache value again.

mysql> SHOW VARIABLES LIKE ‘query_cache_size’;

Then exit the mysql be pressing Ctrl+D

Open my.cnf file and insert the below line vi /etc/my.cnf

query_cache_size = 268435456
query_cache_type=1
query_cache_limit=1048576

save the file and restart mysql
